Diocesan Endorsement of AHG Has Doubled for the Christian-based Alternative to the Girl Scouts
American Heritage Girls National Catholic Committee elects National Episcopal Moderator

CINCINNATI, June 17, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- The American Heritage Girls National Catholic Committee has elected its first Episcopal Moderator, Bishop James D. Conley from the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln. His Excellency will provide spiritual guidance while presiding over and representing the AHG NCC.

Diocesan endorsement of AHG has doubled over the past year, including support from 83 Catholic dioceses nationwide. Catholic churches have chartered 25% of AHG Troops, becoming the fastest growing demographic for the youth ministry program.

Bishop Conley states, "I am grateful to have been asked to serve as the National Episcopal Moderator for the American Heritage Girls (AHG) It is important to have a strong, faith based organization for girls. I wish to thank AHG for the opportunity to strengthen the Catholic dimension of the program."

The Catholic Episcopal Moderator position is important to the growth of the AHG National Catholic Committee to ensure that the committee will adhere to the magisterium and advise on matters between AHG, Inc. and the Catholic Church in the United States.
