Obama Stimulus Package--End of His Credibility?

WASHINGTON, Feb. 9 /Christian Newswire/ -- President Barack Obama was quoted in the Washington Post saying if Congress does not pass his Stimulus Bill right away, "Our nation will slip deeper into a crisis that, at some point we may not be able to reverse."

These are very strong words, but what if the Stimulus Package simply does not work?

Many of our nations leading Economists disagree about whether the Stimulus Package is guaranteed to work.  It is certain that our nation's economy is in trouble, but will getting behind an unpopular Stimulus Package be the beginning of the end for President Obama?

The fact is, the Stimulus Package may not actually achieve any of its purported goals.

What if we continue to see an Economic slump and the Stimulus Package does not create anywhere near the number of new jobs which Obama has promised?  What if the American public decides it is against the large number of pork barrel spending provisions of this package and Democrats are the same as Republicans?

Don Swarthout, President of Christians Reviving America's Values, CRAVE, said, "This Stimulus Package may actually be Barack Obama's first and only chance to show the world he is right about how to correct our Economic problems in the United States."

Swarthout continued, "We do not seem to remember why we got into this problem in the first place. The reason our current financial problems are because our government forced banks to make mortgage loans to people who could not pay them back.  In reality people like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd should be held accountable and prosecuted for forcing lenders to make these bad loans."

If this Stimulus Package fails will President Obama and all the others who supported it be held accountable and ruined?  What if we spend trillions of borrowed tax payer dollars and it turns out to be a huge mistake?

Swarthout said, "I believe we should think long and hard about this before we jump in with both feet."
