NASHVILLE, August 1, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- World Vision announced today it is partnering with EMI/CMG, the WOW partnership, Zondervan and Proper Management on the release of the highly anticipated "The Story" music CD The Story Tour, scheduled to launch in 2012. As the story of Christ shapes and inspires listeners' own story, the Christian humanitarian organization hopes audiences will in turn be inspired to change the life story of a child in need.

"We're reminded in The Story how passionate Jesus' heart was for the poor, for the oppressed, for the children in His world," said Jenny Lockwald, World Vision's Executive Director for Events and Broadcast. "At World Vision, we're privileged to get to share with Christians how they can make reaching out to our world's most vulnerable children part of their own story."

A portion of the proceeds from the sales of The Story music CD will benefit World Vision's ministry among the world's most vulnerable children, helping to strengthen their bodies through clean water, sanitation and malaria prevention, protect their futures from harmful practices such as child labor or sexual exploitation, and bless their spirits through opportunities to hear about God's love for them. Concert-goers who attend The Story Tour will have the opportunity to sponsor a child in need, extending their impact over several years of a child's life and helping to transform that child's entire community.

ADDITIONAL QUOTES:
"The Story of Jesus Christ offers life in all its fullness to all who hear it. This one-of-a-kind, multimedia project also reminds us that there are thousands of children around the world who long for this fullness of life, which can only come when we take the opportunity to help change their stories."--Jenny Lockwald, World Vision Executive Director, Events and Broadcast

"Let the greatest story ever told move you to change the story of a child in need." --Lana Reda, World Vision Vice President, Sponsorship
