WASHINGTON, May 24 /Christian Newswire/ -- National Pro-Life Action Center (NPLAC)— the uncompromising voice of pro-life America on Capitol Hill—is proud to announce that Paul Chaim Schenck, NPLAC director and the former senior pastor at new Covenant Tabernacle Church in Tonawanda, N.Y., will be the keynote speaker at tonight’s 10th Annual Crisis Pregnancy Center Benefit Banquet in Depew, N.Y., beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Dr. Schenck’s pro-life advocacy in well known in the Buffalo-area. In the 1990s, he challenged harsh restrictions imposed on pro-life sidewalk counselors by a Buffalo Federal Court. The case, Schenck v. Pro-Choice Network of Western New York, eventually went to the Supreme Court of the United States where Dr. Schenck prevailed in an 8-1 decision. In 2004, Dr. Schenck entered the Catholic Church through Opus Dei, the personal prelature of Pope John Paul II, which is at the heart of the controversial new movie, The Da Vinci Code.
