MADISON, Wis., Dec. 7, 2017 /Christian Newswire/ -- A transgender won two silvers at the women’s World Weightlifting Championships that concluded Tuesday evening in Anaheim, California.

Laurel Hubbard, 39, from New Zealand won two silvers. Overall, the transgender athlete finished second to Sarah Robles from the United States.

Also, Hubbard finished second in the snatch category. Identifying as a female four years ago, Hubbard previously competed as a man.

"For the first time that we know of in an Olympic sport, a man competing as a woman performed well," states 4 Winds Christian Athletics President Steve McConkey. "Hubbard will have an opportunity at the upcoming 2020 Olympics. We have asked the International Olympic Committee to ban transgender athletes from competition, but to no avail."

McConkey is the founder and president of 4 Winds Christian Athletics (4 WINDS), a ministry that stands up for Christian athletes. McConkey started in 2003 fighting the International Olympic Committee for allowing transgenders in the Olympics. He was the only one who stood against this.

From there, the transgender movement spread to state high schools, the NCAA, NFL, NBA, MLB, and the military. Steve has fought this LGBT agenda every step of the way.
