AURORA, Ill., Sept. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Saturday, September 15 at 9:00 AM, a massive protest and march will take place at the nation's largest Planned Parenthood facility located at 3051 E. New York St. in Aurora, Illinois. This protest will be the culmination of the 7-day "Jericho March" organized by the Pro-Life Action League (PLAL), which has seen between 200-400 people at the Planned Parenthood site on a daily basis since it began. On Saturday, organizers expect over a thousand pro-life supporters to gather. In addition, an ethnically and religiously diverse group of clergy members, including representatives from the African-American and Hispanic communities, will be making statements to the media at 10:00 AM regarding a petition that was signed by over 120 pro-life church leaders to be published in an ad in the Aurora and Naperville papers on Sunday.

After weeks of silence, Planned Parenthood went on the offensive this week with ads running in the local paper calling the pro-life protestors "extremists" and accusing them of advocating violence. In addition, on Wednesday, Planned Parenthood gathered a small group of pro-abortion clergy members from the Chicago area to call for a day of prayer in support of the abortion clinic. The spokesman for the group, Randall Doubet-King, is board chair of Planned Parenthood-Chicago Area. This Saturday, the pro-life clergy want to make clear that the majority of Christians do not support Planned Parenthood.

"We want this city to know that their clergy will not be represented by a Planned Parenthood publicity stunt," said Eric Scheidler, Communications Director of PLAL. "When we gather to march and protest on Saturday, the people of Aurora will see that their clergy stand together for the life of the unborn."

The protest march will include seven groups of marchers going around the entire block seven times while singing and playing musical instruments. This will be the largest protest march since the one held on August 25th which saw over 1200 people. In addition, Dr. Johnny Hunter, an African-American pro-life leader and founder of LEARN (Life Education and Resource Network) will speak at the press conference. Prior to joining the march, Dr. Hunter will address the Fox Family Ministerial Alliance, a network of black pastors, to encourage them to stand against Planned Parenthood.

"It is not just local religious and community leaders who are coming out to protest this 22,000 square foot abortion mega-center," said Scheidler. "There are leaders from all over the country beginning to take notice and coming out to show their support."
