PHOENIX, Oct. 8 /Christian Newswire/ -- Last week in Washington, Senate Finance Committee Democrats rejected an amendment to the Baucus health care bill which would have strengthened anti-abortion provisions. Yet, what appears to be a victory for President Obama and those who support his push to have a government managed health care reform bill signed into law before Thanksgiving, gives one group of conservatives a glimmer of hope with the news that a vote on the bill has been postponed.

"Americans who are opposed to taxpayer dollars being spent to fund abortions have an opportunity here," says Dr. Cornell Haan, co-founder of PrayerPlanet.net. "Instead of being forced to accept what once seemed to be the inevitable, we have now been given time to unite in prayer as millions of unborn babies' lives hang in the balance."

Dr. Cornell Haan, one of the founders of The Presidential Prayer Team formed to pray for then President Bush right after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, identified health care reform as one of the primary concerns being expressed by members of Prayerplanet.net.

Prayer Planet is the only digital online social network completely dedicated to prayer. It’s technology enables users to do a myriad of things such as start their own personal prayer lists, build a network of prayer partners, and even join prayer teams to pray collectively about issues such as health care reform, the H1N1 pandemic, and the state of the global economy.

"With Prayerplanet.net, members are able to send and receive prayer requests via email, web or mobile devices as they would with Twitter, Facebook, or any of the other social networking outlets," Haan continues, "but with one big difference.  Rather than being primarily focused on self-promotion or mundane activities of a personal nature, Prayerplanet.net provides the opportunity to give our lives true purpose as we respond in prayer for the great needs of our country and the world around us."

Dr. Cornell Haan is the Vice President of The World Prayer Team and recognized as one of the world's leading experts on prayer.  He is the National Facilitator of Spiritual Unity for The Mission America Coalition, the co-founder of The Presidential Prayer Team, and founder of Kingdom Connections.  Dr. Haan has been thoroughly involved in the planting of seven churches and as a member of operational boards for the Baptist General Conference in Minnesota, Northern California, Florida, the Southwestern US, as well as in the Middle East.  Before accepting the position as National Facilitator of Ministry Networks in 1996, Dr. Haan, over the span of 30 years, led six various churches as Senior Pastor.
