NPA Praises New Hampshire Delegates

NORCROSS, Ga., Sept. 25, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- National Personhood Alliance (NPA) today praised the New Hampshire Republican Party delegates for embracing Personhood and honoring the sanctity of all human life from its earliest biological beginning.

"I commend the courage shown by the New Hampshire GOP Platform Convention to stand on first principles and recognize that all pre-born children are persons, regardless of stage of development," explained NPA President Molly Smith.

Smith said the move should serve as both an example and encouragement to the GOP in other states.

POLITICO reported that the New Hampshire GOP recently adopted a socially conservative platform that supports "the pre-born child's fundamental right to life and personhood under the Fourteenth Amendment" as well as a "Life at Conception Act."

The announcement drew an immediate reaction from Scott Brown, the state's GOP-endorsed candidate for the U.S. Senate.

A Brown aide quickly released an email saying Brown does not agree with the personhood language. Also, his spokeswoman was quoted saying: "Scott Brown is pro-choice and will protect a woman's right to choose."

Even though Brown openly acknowledges his pro-abortion position, in past races Brown has been endorsed by National Right to Life and Massachusetts Citizens for Life.

Smith noted: "It only takes someone to stand firm on the bedrock principle of Personhood to clearly highlight Republicans who do not support the pre-born. Just being a Republican does not make you pro-life."

"When politics is more important than holding a pro-life standard, people like Brown slip in under the radar and people die," Smith said. "But when decisions and endorsements are based on the standard that ALL human beings are persons, it reveals where politicians really stand."

Darlene Pawlik, Chair of the New Hampshire Right to Life PAC, said: "I'm so grateful the grassroots members of the GOP decided to raise our standard when it comes to protecting innocent human life. That took a lot of courage and determination."

NPA is a newly-formed confederation of faith-based, pro-life organizations and leaders who believe that pursuing Personhood is essential to protecting all innocent human life—from earliest biological beginning through natural death—in the 21st century.

NPA is a grassroots organization designed to leverage local political abilities at the national level. "Our goal is to help bring the movement back to its original mission—honoring the fact that everyone is created in the image of God and deserves protection, regardless of manner of conception," Smith said.

NPA will be officially established at a Founders Convention to be held in Atlanta, GA, on October 10th and 11th.
