AUSTIN, Texas, April 12, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- America's heart is being shattered daily! Each day brings more news of discord at home, fear in the marketplace, anguish in the halls of government, and confusion in America's classrooms.

As a troubled nation, many have forgotten who made us, who protects us, and who blesses us. Yet, the first week in May will usher into public and private places the cries of millions and millions of people of faith who are seeking God for America's families, churches, schools, businesses, military, media, and governmental leaders.

National Day of Prayer will celebrate its 61st anniversary as people from all walks of life come together to pray for direction and correction that America will be "One Nation Under God."

Billboards covering the Texas Capitol Area bring the theme for 2012: "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" (Psalm 33:12).

Governor Rick Perry will speak and present his prayer proclamation at the Texas State NDP Prayer Breakfast on Wednesday, May 2nd at the Doubletree Hotel in North Austin under leadership of Evelyn W. Davison, America's Honorary NDP Coordinator and CTTF. Featured speaker will be Nick Vujicic, (lifewithoutlimbs.org) and music will be presented by David Kehrer. Following at noon, wounded warriors, veterans, service personnel and their families will gather at Camp Mabry for prayer as Vujicic brings hope and encouragement to those who have... and are... serving the cause of freedom.

Texas NDP Capitol Event, Thursday May 3rd, will be held on the South Steps from 11:45 to 1:00 pm with Texas Capitol Fellowship and pastors providing leadership with Cindi Vana, Texas State Coordinator.
