ENUMCLAW, Wash., Aug. 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- By breaking down the definition of faith in his new book, Dr. W.L. Seaver encourages readers to re-evaluate and refocus their faith.

"A Mosaic of Faith from the Gospels" (Pleasant Word, 2009) examines eleven time-ordered Gospel events Jesus used to teach his disciples in the New Testament books: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

"This is not one of those books to be read at one or two sittings. As with studying the Gospels, one needs to move thoughtfully and prayerfully through each chapter slowly and under the power of the Holy Spirit, asking God to help the reader hear His voice."

Dr. Seaver challenges readers to examine their faith and adopt a faith-building outlook on everyday events such as injustice, weakness, illness, failure, fear, triumph, and uncertainty.

"This book was not designed to replace anyone's time in studying the Word of God. Rather, my intent is to help readers evaluate where their faith is, but most importantly, where our eyes of faith need to be focused."

Dr. W. L. Seaver is an Associate Professor in Statistics at the University of Tennessee. He holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Business Administration, a Ph.D. in statistics, and a Masters of Biblical Studies Degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is the author of over thirty articles and is a full-time professor and consultant.

Dr. Seaver has spent the last 40 years developing discipleship ministries with athletes, students, faculty, and the community church. Over the years he has actively shared his faith and has developed statistical apologetics to encourage the believer and to gently challenge the non-believer. He and his wife Barbara have three children, two grandchildren, and live in Knoxville, Tennessee.
