The International Olympic Committee's New Transgender Policy is Immoral and Creates an Uneven Playing Field
Contact: 4 WINDS, 608-469-7956

MADISON, Wis., Jan. 22, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- The International Olympic Committee is set to pass new rules making it easier for transgenders to compete in the Olympics.

In 2003, the IOC allowed transgenders to compete after sex reassignment surgery and two years of hormone therapy. With the new rules, no reassignment surgery is necessary and athletes have to receive only one year of hormone therapy.

4 WINDS, a sports ministry in Madison, Wisconsin that stands up worldwide for Christian athletes, was the only sports ministry to fight the 2003 transgender ruling. 4 WINDS knew this would open a door for immorality and create an uneven playing field in the future.

"We started in 2003 standing against transgenders in the Olympics," states 4 WINDS president Steve McConkey. "Not only is the LGBT movement promoting immoral behavior in sports, but science will show that the new IOC ruling is not scientifically sound. The IOC has opened the door for a threat to the Olympics worse than performance enhancing drugs."

In recent years, 4 WINDS has opposed the LGBT movement influencing sports. The IOC, USOC, NCAA, and other sport organizations have pushed for the acceptance of homosexuality in sports.

In February 2015, Steve McConkey opposed Bruce Jenner's decision to become a transgender. He knew the media and sports organizations would use his celebrity status to promote the transgender movement.

Currently, most state high school associations allow transgenders to compete on any team they desire to be on. Now, locker rooms will be open to teenage boys showering with female athletes.

4 WINDS is in touch with athletes throughout the world and encourages athletes to grow in their Christian faith by reading the Bible and to be under the guidance of sound Bible teachers.

Steve McConkey is the president of 4 WINDS, a sports ministry that stands up for America's Christian athletes. Ministry headquarters have been in Eugene, Dallas-Fort Worth, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and now Madison, Wisconsin. Steve was born in Des Moines, Iowa, but moved to NW Wisconsin after the sixth grade. He became a Christian after reading the Bible as an undergraduate. 4 WINDS produces BigPlanetWatch.com and TrackandFieldReport.com.
