VISTA, Calif., Sept. 26, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- To accompany the release of "Courageous," the latest faith-based film from Sherwood Pictures, Outreach is offering a one-stop shopping site for supporting resources that churches can use to help share the principles of the movie with their congregations' families and fathers.

"Courageous," the faith-building movie set for release Sept. 30 by the film-making ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church, Albany, Ga., journeys into the lives of four law enforcement officers. When tragedy hits each of the four, the men are left wrestling with their hopes, fears and faith, as well as their fathering.

Working with several of the official "Courageous" product partners, including B&H Publishing, LifeWay Christian Resources, Tyndale House Publishers and DaySpring, the website pulls together virtually all the resources available into one convenient supply center at www.CourageousOutreach.com.

"Themes addressed in 'Courageous' make for a long-overdue discussion in pulpits and Bible studies about the vital role of fathers," said Eric Abel, vice president of marketing for Outreach. "Never before have dads been so essential to the family, yet many men need a wake-up call and guidance concerning the ever-changing challenges of fathers in today's society.

"These resources will greatly enhance a church's ability to communicate essential biblical messages to families," Abel said.

The Courageous Campaign Kit comes with a step-by-step planning guide, supportive sermon outlines, a four-week small-group study with member book and supporting DVD of movie clips, a DVD-ROM with promotional trailers and worship helps and an advance copy of Sherwood pastor Michael Catt's "Courageous Living" book.

Other materials available to accompany the movie at www.CourageousOutreach.com include the "Courageous Living Bible Study Kit" and "The Resolution" document, as seen in the film.

Supporting books include "The Resolution for Men" by Stephen Kendrick, co-writer of the screenplay and senior associate pastor of Sherwood Baptist, and his brother Alex Kendrick, the church's associate pastor and screenplay co-writer, director, producer and actor in "Courageous." "The Resolution for Women" by speaker, author and Bible teacher Priscilla Shirer, the "Courageous" novel by Randy Alcorn, and "Courageous Living: Dare to Take a Stand" by Michael Catt are also featured on the website.
