MEDIA ADVISORY, June 4 /Christian Newswire/ -- GOD TV has been inundated with e-mails from over 100 different nations as viewers continue to respond to the network's marathon broadcast of this year's Global Day of Prayer, hosted by GOD TV founders, Rory & Wendy Alec in Washington, D.C, which aired LIVE on Pentecost Sunday, May 31st.

During the all-day broadcast across the time-zones, thousands of e-mails were received from viewers on every continent including such faraway places as China, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Bolivia, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, and the United Arab Emirates. E-mails have also come in from 48 states of the USA and many are still being received. Just four of the e-mails include:

  • Wendy & Keith in Annapolis, Maryland, who said: "We were so excited to turn on the TV and pray with the nations. Our brothers and sisters in China, India etc are such an inspiration to us, our heroes in sharing Jesus with the world;"

  • Pastor Fayyaz in Pakistan who wrote: "We are joining you from the city of Lahore. GOD TV is an unspeakable blessing as we pray for our Land to be set free";

  • Hein & Gerd in Luxembourg: "We are privileged to receive GOD TV and be united with millions of believers. We pray for the big nations, as well as our small nation." and

  • Diane watching in Beijing, China: "Your prayers touched me right deep in the heart and I feel comforted by the promises of God."

Rory and Wendy and the GOD TV team in the US capital worked throughout the night to challenge believers to pray more fervently than ever before, with an exciting mix of inspirational video inserts on how prayer is making a difference in various countries as well as LIVE crossings via satellite to Brazil, Hong Kong and the Ivory Coast.

"It was a huge privilege to host the televised coverage of the 2009 Global Day of Prayer," said GOD TV CEO Rory Alec. "What an extraordinary hour to be alive, with over one hundred million people who love Jesus coming together from around the world to pray with passion in thousands of gatherings in different nations. God is surely preparing us for the greatest Outpouring the world has ever seen!"

Wendy Alec, who is GOD TV's director of television, shared on the importance of prayer. "Prayer is God's governmental mandate over the earth, which gives Him the authority to act. This is why global prayer meetings like this are so important," she said. "As Christians have fasted and prayed, and stood up for what they believe, we have started to see God turn impossible situations around, and we will see this more and more as God uses us to pray in the End Time harvest."

GOD TV's LIVE coverage from Brazil was historic as it was the first time the network has broadcast from South America. Africa's Ivory Coast was also featured for the first time, but most viewer response centered on Hong Kong where 25,000 Christians were gathered including Global Day of Prayer founder Graham Power and GOD TV's reporter on the ground, Bo Sander who spoke to high profile prayer leaders such as: Dick Eastman, the president of Every Home for Christ; John Dawson, the president of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and Gwen Shaw, the founder of End-Time Handmaidens.

"I thank God for the fulfillment of a vision which he gave me in the Year 2000 of how this prayer initiative, started in Africa, would extend to the globe," said Graeme Power, speaking from Hong Kong stadium. "As we join with millions of people across the earth, I pray that God would release His blessing across the globe, as He hears our prayers and heals our nations."

GOD TV broadcasts eight 24-hour feeds from its global transmission center in Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, and all of these carried the broadcast including GOD TV Greater China, enabling Chinese Christians to participate in their own language. "It is amazing to be here in Hong Kong and to see what God is doing in China as Christians and churches from all over this region gather to pray together," said Bo Sander. "There is a unity here, that we have never seen before and it will surely stir up others to run further with God, wherever they live."

The Global Day of Prayer started off as a National Day of Repentance in South Africa nine years ago, but rapidly grew to include more and more countries. 2009 marks a milestone for this far-reaching initiative as it is the first time every nation on earth participated, with Christians gathering in 218 nations/territories in groups of all sizes.  Next year the Global Day of Prayer will focus on Cape Town just before South Africa hosts the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
