WICHITA, Kans., Mar. 26 /Christian Newswire/ -- Faith and pro-life leaders are calling for a national day of prayer and fasting on Friday, March 27, asking for God's justice in the case.

George Tiller is the most infamous abortion provider in the world performing over 80,000 abortions with many of them being late-term.

In the courtroom testimony it was reported that many of the abortions were down on women that were between 8 and 9 months pregnant.

The judge in the case also stated that most of the abortions were done on young women between 13 and 17 years old with one abortion being done on a 10-year-old girl.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition in Washington D.C. and who has been in Wichita the past 2 weeks helping lead prayer vigils at the courthouse, comments;

"Faith and pro-life leaders are calling for a national day of prayer on Friday, March 27, asking God for justice in the George Tiller criminal trial.  We are also asking for Dr. Tiller to turn to God and embrace His love and forgiveness.

"If convicted George, Tiller would lose his medical license which would bring an end to the brutal deaths of 80,000 children and the wounds of thousands of women.

"This case has major national significance, as it will energize the pro-life community in a way we have not seen for almost 20 years.  It also serves, as reminder of whoever is President; the strength of our movement has always been in local involvement and grass roots activism.

"The Tiller trial also exposes the extremist abortion agenda of President Obama and Governor Kathleen Sebelius the new nominee for HHS Secretary.  While Governor of Kansas, Ms. Sebelius was a supporter of George Tiller and vetoed all pro-life legislation that came across her desk.  It is extremely troubling to have a person overseeing our health care system that supports late-term abortions and has little regard for human rights and social justice."

Rev. Mahoney will be in Wichita until the verdict is handed down and will be available for interviews.
