Food4Israel Supports Families and Elderly with Dignity -- The Israel Food Card
Contact: Daniel Goodman, President, CharityChoice Gifts, 732-397-5056, dg@charity-choice.org

LAKEWOOD, NJ, Nov. 26, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Food4Israel, a partnership of JAR and CharityChoice Gifts, enables donating to the Israel Food Card program, which distributes to over 6,000 underprivileged families in Israel. The cards are loaded monthly with funds to be used like credit cards, to buy food and other necessities (no tobacco, electronics or alcohol) in major Israeli grocery chain stores. The chains give a rebate to JAR (Jewish Assistance and Relief), who runs the program in Israel, that is used towards administrative expenses, so that 100% of donations go to help put more plentiful and nutritional meals on families' table.

Surveys have shown that recipients prefer this dignified way to receive assistance, rather than getting packages or standing in food distribution lines. Parents are given the respect of selecting what is best for their families, purchasing like anyone else in the grocery store, and the elderly can buy foods to fit special diets.

JAR is presently supporting over 6,000 families monthly, distributing 100,000 cards a year, including food cards for festivals, to needy families, totaling $5,000,000 annually. Food cards are distributed without racial, religious or cultural discrimination of any kind.

Daniel Goodman, President of CharityChoice Gifts, states:

"This is a wonderful holiday charity donation or gift that donors can present with an emailed CharityChoice HonorCard to friends and family members, showing the charitable gift. Combining charitable giving and support of Israel makes for a most meaningful holiday gift.

"Donations can be made by credit card or mailed in, with options for recurring charges on a monthly basis. Rewards points can also be redeemed from Verizon Small Biz, Wells Fargo Bank, other credit cards and employee incentives for donating. Check the rewards program catalog to see if a CharityChoice Donation Gift Card is offered.

"CharityChoice also offers a Holy Land Charity Gift Card, highlighting 10 worthwhile causes doing good deeds of kindness in Israel, including the Israel Food Card Program. The full CharityChoice menu of American and International social welfare charities numbers nearly 1000. eGifts, physical cards and the posting of charity gift cards on Facebook walls are offered. Cute $2 and $5 charity Stocking Stuffer cards, printed on recycled card stock are great for office and family holiday party favors."

CharityChoice Gift Cards has partnered with JAR to create the www.Food4Israel.com website, with all of the functionality, including posting of Season's greetings and Israel themed graphics on Facebook friend's walls.
