HOUSTON, Aug. 5, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The College of Biblical Studies is pleased to announce a new bachelor's degree program in Women's Ministry.  Along with this degree program, a special course will be offered for the ministry of the Pastor's wife.

"Our students and women in the community have been asking for a specialized degree program for women.  We hear them loud and clear and the launch of this new program -- and the specialized course for the pastor's wife is our way of providing the instruction and preparation they so desperately want." Said Dr. Venessa Ellen, program coordinator and professor at the College of Biblical Studies.

While women face many of the same challenges as men in leading their ministries, there are other challenges unique to women.  This degree program will encompass all that a woman needs to lead efficiently and effectively, including proficiency in analytical reasoning, strong research skills pertaining to current and past issues related to women, effective writing, financial management and critical thinking on worldview issues with an emphasis on women.

At the foundation of this program is a panel of some of the top women's ministry leaders in Texas and the nation.  This panel includes Dr. Lois Evans, speaker, author, ministry leader and wife of Dr. Tony Evans of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, and Dr. Sheila Bailey, wife of the late Dr. E.K. Bailey, speaker, author and advocate for ministers' wives.  This panel helped the College create a degree program that would equip women to be qualified in every aspect of ministry and leadership.

Dr. Lois Evans believes women will benefit from the education received at the College: "I encourage women to take advantage of this degree program at the College of Biblical Studies.  You will find unlimited training, resources and tools as you journey with other women just like yourself."
