Just in Time for the Holidays -- Website Seeks to Provide Meals for Children in Need

Contact: Royce Hood, 630-934-6203

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla., Dec. 18, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Celebrating the holidays with friends and family usually involves at least a few delicious meals. Are you one of the tens of millions of people who will enjoy your holiday meal while dining out? What if your meal out could also provide a meal for a child in need? Those are the questions recently asked by start-up MealDeals.com.

"This holiday season, we're using social media to help us launch MealDeals.com," said site founder, Sean Bloomfield. He explained:

"Recently, a group of my friends and associates embarked on a mission to promote a social enterprise platform called MealDeals.com. The model is simple: for every deal purchased, a child in need gets a free meal. We call it happiness squared."

The MealDeals.com website describes the concept of Happiness Squared using three simple bullet points:

  • Restaurants are happy because MealDeals is free advertising

  • Customers are happy because they save money while dining out

  • Children in need are happy because they get fed and educated

"What's not to love?" asked Mr. Bloomfield, who is based out of the Space Coast area of Florida. "We hope to soon provide MealDeals to happy customers across the United States."

MealDeals.com is currently promoting a fundraising campaign. The group created a goal of raising $65k using Indiegogo.com, a crowdfunding platform. The campaign indicates that the money is needed to build out a mobile application for the website and to help promote and market the website to restaurants across the country.

"We are pushing forward to launch MealDeals.com," said Mr. Bloomfield. "Every dime raised will be used to promote the site, to improve the quality of our platform, and some will even go to our charity."

Also, Mr. Bloomfield reports that his team is actively seeking new restaurants to offer Meal Deals. "We'd love for them to join MealDeals.com and offer a Meal Deal through our site. It's free to advertise and each Meal Deal sold provides a meal to a child in need. We do this through our support for international charity Mary's Meals as well as by partnering with local food charities."
