WICHITA, Kan., March 29, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hundreds of gentle Christians from around the nation will converge in Wichita this summer for a week of street activities, inspired preaching, education, and prayer beginning July 16, 2016. Operation Save America is coming back to Wichita to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the "Summer of Mercy" campaign and to complete the mission to see Wichita abortion free.

"Some of the most amazing things I've ever seen in my life happened right here in Wichita," said Rusty Thomas, director of Operation Save America, successor to Operation Rescue, whose 46-day 'Summer of Mercy' campaign in 1991 began to turn the tide of abortion in America.

This year's event will include constitutional scholars and guest speakers who will argue that Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that established a "constitutional right" to abortion is legal fiction. It impugns the law of God and tramples the Constitutional rights of the preborn. The Constitution is clear on this matter. No person shall be deprived of life without due process of law. It should be ignored by the states.

"We're talking about the states defying a tyrannical court. They must do their duty to interpose and nullify that lawless decree and protect the preborn. Any human law that directly violates the commandment of God is no law at all, What we want to produce here in Wichita is a paradigm shift on how we view God, government, and abortion," stated Thomas.

The gathering in Wichita will be a peaceful. Rev. Thomas continued, "We do not advocate violence and we've actually been on the forefront of rebuking others who do. It's very important that Wichita understands the spirit in which we come. We don't overcome evil by becoming evil. We overcome evil by doing good. We must not become what we are seeking to end."

"25 years ago and again 15 years ago committed and caring individuals came to Wichita from across the nation to join the church here to expose and resist the child killing industry in our city. Wichita's reputation as the abortion capital of the world was challenged to its core. Come and let us complete the work in Jesus' name! Rescue the perishing! Defend the innocent! Expose the unfruitful works of darkness!" -- Rob Rotola, senior pastor of Word of Life Church, Wichita
