NORCROSS, Ga., Nov. 13, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) President Dan Becker expressed profound gratitude to the Georgia Baptist Convention (GBC) for supporting the Personhood movement.

"I am deeply grateful that GBC has officially endorsed Personhood as the most effective way to protect all innocent human life," Becker said. "Having their support is crucial to our efforts."

Personhood seeks to gain legal protection for all innocent human life from their earliest biological beginning through natural death.

Earlier this week at their annual meeting, the GBC adopted a resolution pledging to: assist in the movement; support a Personhood amendment to Georgia's constitution; and encourage pastors to address the issue on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, January 18, 2015.

The resolution affirmed that: "All innocent human life must be respected and protected regardless of race, sex, age or condition of dependency and regardless of manner of conception or creation, and are persons of equal and immeasurable worth and inviolable dignity."

GRTL has taken a leadership role in the Personhood movement, by recently organizing the newly-formed Personhood Alliance (PA).

"PA is a grassroots effort. Local pro-life groups and leaders will determine the agenda and strategies to be carried out at the local, national, and international level, Becker said.
