WASHINGTON, Dec. 19 /Christian Newswire/ -- Concerned Women for America (CWA) is proud to announce the addition of Matt Barber as Policy Director for Cultural Issues.  Matt will focus on monitoring cultural trends and their impact on the family, particularly the homosexual agenda.

Matt holds graduate degrees in law and public policy from Regent University and is licensed to practice in Colorado.  His years of leadership include serving as Press Secretary/Campaign Coordinator for Illinois gubernatorial candidate Jim Oberweis, serving as Senior Territorial Manager for the Law and Regulation Department at Allstate Insurance Company, clerking for several law offices, and service in law enforcement.

Matt’s years as an undefeated heavyweight boxer trained him for the ruthless fight he would endure as a result of standing up for his beliefs.  In 2004, he gained national attention when he was fired from Allstate Insurance Company after writing an article defending traditional marriage.  This experience prompted Matt to take a strong stand against homosexual activism and advocate on behalf of Christians worldwide who are persecuted for their faith.

CWA President Wendy Wright said, “Matt Barber deserves respect for having paid the price for standing up for his beliefs.  His knowledge is matched by his character.  We are pleased that Matt will contribute to the effectiveness and ministry of CWA.”

Concerned Women for America (CWA) is the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization.
