Contact: Pam Perry, 248-426-2300, info@MinistryMarketingSolutions.com

MEDIA ADVISORY, June 27 /Christian Newswire/ -- About the Book; Survivors of severe trauma are never the same. Often they become trapped, unable to return to normal life. This book reaches out to survivors with practical, biblical insights to help them get unstuck and move toward healing. The Trauma Zone is where trauma survivors get stuck: they find they can’t move past the event, or they can’t cope with overwhelming emotions, or they experience flashbacks. Collins teaches readers how to turn off the “Trauma DJ” the voice in their heads that keeps them locked in the past, and move forward into freedom from emotional pain.

"Dr. Collins shows us the way out of our pain in his masterful style of interpreting the Scripture and his use of psychological insight...This book exemplifies what our Savior meant when He said, "I am come that ye may have life and that ye may have it more abundantly (John 10:10)." -- From the Foreword by Dr William J. Shaw - President, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. - Pastor, White Rock Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA

From the Publisher
In the eerie, classic television show The Twilight Zone, characters caught in the zone wanted nothing more than to return to normal life. Similarly, survivors of severe trauma fall into The Trauma Zone--a place they want to escape from, but can’t. Some cannot move forward, feeling stuck and victimized by their past. Some cannot see the present, living in denial of what has happened. And others cannot learn from the past, repeating the same mistakes over and over. All of them find they can’t cope with the overwhelming emotions that accompany trauma. Collins' approach teaches that all of us experience overwhelming stress. And if we learn how trauma works, we can master the pain that once mastered us. His easy-to-read style makes working through emotional pain uplifting. (Moody Publishers/Lift Every Voice)
