SAN FRANCISCO, March 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- HarperOne, publisher of the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) Bible, announces the launch of the NRSV Bible e-book, including electronic editions of the NRSV, NRSV with Apocrypha, NRSV Catholic Edition, The HarperCollins Study Bible (NRSV), and The Green Bible.

For the first time, the most trusted, accepted, and accurate translation of the Bible--the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)--is available in an all major e-book formats. It can be read on dedicated e-ink readers, such as the Amazon Kindle, Sony Reader, and B&N Nook, as well as laptops, desktops, tablets, PDAs, the iPhone, Blackberry and other smartphones. This is also the first time a mainstream Study Bible--The HarperCollins Study Bible--will be available in digital format.  The Green Bible will also be available as an e-book making it even greener.

"The Scriptures have travelled well for the last 2,200 years," says Mark Tauber, Senior Vice President and Publisher of HarperOne. "We are happy to announce that the NRSV is now available digitally and will hopefully take us at least another twenty-two centuries."

The New Revised Standard Version is the most trusted, most accepted, and most accurate translation of the Bible on the market. It is recognized in scholarly, mainline Protestant, progressive Evangelical and Roman Catholic circles as the best English rendering of the original Hebrew and Greek texts.

Following the line of tradition that flows down from the King James to the Standard and the Revised Standard Versions, the NRSV was designed to be the "authorized" version for English-speaking people across all categories of Christian faith. Though many others have tried, including ongoing efforts from the United Methodist Church, most have ended up with translations that reflect sectarian biases. To date, the NRSV is the leader when it comes to elegance and accuracy.
