INDIAN TRAIL, N.C., April 1, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Ratio Christi is pleased to announce the appointment of its new president and CEO, Corey Miller. Miller comes to us after five years of service to Faculty Commons, Cru (formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ).

He holds a PhD in philosophical theology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Since 2009, he has directed the Christian Faculty, Grad, and Staff Network at Purdue, and he is an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy and Comparative Religions at Indiana University-Kokomo. Among other publications, he is co-editor of "Is Faith in God Reasonable? Debates in Philosophy, Science, and Rhetoric" (Routledge, 2014).

Miller possesses the skills and experience to take Ratio Christi to new levels of effectiveness. He has been a youth and college pastor, a Bible college and university professor, campus minister, lecturer and evangelist. His doctorate in theology and his graduate degrees in philosophy, philosophy of religion and ethics, and biblical studies provide an academic background suited to leadership in this growing student apologetics ministry. He is well-versed in both the academic and ministry strata of university life via both classroom and campus ministry. He understands worldview issues and how to communicate winsomely with evangelistic fervor. As an "academic insider" Miller brings unique insight into the faculty/grad culture and how to reach it.

A former Mormon from Utah, Miller now lives with his wife Melinda and three children in Indiana and describes himself as a "kingdom coalition builder."

"I am humbled and elated to serve Christ through such a Kingdom-oriented organization as Ratio Christi," says Miller. "It is a movement dedicated to defending truth and bringing the light of the Gospel to the academy while working in tandem with other ministries in a smart and winsome manner. By God's grace, I can help take RC beyond being a 'student apologetics alliance' to being a whole campus apologetics alliance and expand this into Europe, Asia, and beyond as well as into high schools through the RC College Prep program."

Ratio Christi equips university students and faculty to give historical, philosophical, and scientific reasons for following Jesus Christ. At the same time, our chapters provide a safe and charitable venue for atheists, agnostics, skeptics, and adherents to any religion to investigate the claims of Christianity, discuss religious beliefs, and seek truth without fearing reprisal.

We are extremely grateful to Rick Schenker, RC's first president and CEO. Rick led the expansion of Ratio Christi's network, both within and outside the apologetics community, from a handful of chapters on college campuses to over 150 chapters within just a few years. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.
