Ratio Christi Launches International Division -- Attorney John Stewart Recruited to Lead International Effort

Contact: John Stewart, Ratio Christi, 657-201-1151

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 25, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Ratio Christi ("the Reason of Christ"), a national campus apologetics ministry now on over 100 college and university campuses in the U.S., announces the official launch of Ratio Christi International, and the appointment of John Stewart as International Director.

John is an American lawyer, apologist, and international speaker, and holds four earned degrees. He formerly co-hosted the nationally-syndicated radio show the Bible Answerman with the late Walter Martin. Dr. Stewart served as professor of law and apologetics at Simon Greenleaf University in America, was a Director of the Christian Research Institute, and is the author of several books and articles.

Ratio Christi's purpose is to establish apologetics ("defense of the Christian faith") clubs on university campuses throughout the world, with the goal of having resident apologists assigned to each campus to work with students and faculty. Ratio Christi equips university students and faculty to give historical, philosophical, and scientific reasons for following Jesus Christ and trains them to use that foundation to become conversational evangelists for the Gospel.

Professor Stewart commented, "It's amazing to see how quickly students start using what they are taught in everyday conversations on and off campus. It is a privilege to serve as the International Director of Ratio Christi. I am excited about the tremendous interest around the world to have campus chapters that promote an intelligent Christian faith and provide a place where both believers and those seeking truth can come and discuss why Christianity is intellectually sound. In our increasingly-secular age, the demand for what Ratio Christi International offers is universal."

Rick Schenker, President of Ratio Christi, added, "We are thrilled to have John leading our international efforts. This is a very complicated undertaking that will involve short-term missions, long-term mission assignments, in country apologists, and developing Ratio Christi nonprofit organizations in many countries. John's legal background and experience traveling and teaching internationally make him well suited for this challenge."
