Rev. Peterson Blasts President Obama and His Cabinet for 'Selective Outrage' Over Planned Quran Burning

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9 /Christian Newswire/ -- Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, Founder and President of BOND Action, is blasting President Barack Obama and senior members of his cabinet for their hypocrisy and selective outrage over plans by Pastor Terry Jones and his small Florida church to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11. The following is Rev. Peterson's statement regarding this matter:

"Burning the Quran is foolish and unnecessary. The pastor has the 'right' to burn the Quran -- but it doesn't make it right. Just as Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf has the 'right' to build a mosque near Ground Zero -- but he's dead wrong. Both are offensive and unnecessary.

"For Barack Obama to condemn the Florida pastor, yet endorse the radical Muslim cleric's plan to erect a victory Muslim mosque near hallowed grounds is dangerous and hypocritical. Eric Holder and Hillary Clinton have reportedly condemned the proposed Quran burning as 'idiotic' and 'disgraceful.' If it weren't for Obama and his administration ripping this pastor, this issue would not have been elevated to an international crisis.

"Christian Bibles, the American flag and images of American presidents are routinely burned in effigy in Muslim nations. Yet, Americans and Christians don't threaten to kill Muslims on sight. Radical Muslims hate America and Israel and they don't need to be 'provoked' to kill Christians and Jews."
