A'nesis Counseling Sabbaticals Changes Lives

Contact: Trudy M. Johnson, LMFT, CSPII, 719-330-4770

BUENA VISTA, Colo., Jan. 11, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- A'nesis is a Greek word that means "comfort for the afflicted; relaxation brought about by a source other than oneself; a liberating rest." When Trudy M. Johnson, MA, LMFT started A'nesis Retreats and Counseling Sabbaticals two years ago as a place for women to pull away from the noise of the world and find themselves, she had no idea that this was an idea whose time had come.

"I actually thought I was scaling back on ministry, sort of going into my pre-retirement years. Instead, God has me more involved than ever in helping bring freedom to hurting Christian women."

Trudy goes on to say, "Over the past year, so many women from all over the United States, Mexico and Canada have made their way to our sleepy little town of 1500 or so people. Getting here is part of the journey. Once the plane lands in Denver or Colorado Springs it is necessary to drive another one-hundred or so miles to Sanctuary, a beautiful facility located on 160 acres at the base of Mt. Princeton, CO. Something about traveling this distance helps clients put the past behind them so they can focus on what God really has for them."

Christian women, including many pastors’ wives and women ministry leaders feel like they’ve stepped into heaven when they walk through the doors of Sanctuary. Coming away to a quiet place away from distractions helps the therapy. Ms. Johnson developed a counseling model called C.O.R.E.

This unique program she's put together accelerates the healing process from trauma, grief and loss by getting to the very core, root cause of the emotional distresses.

"I am so excited to how God changes women's lives with the A'nesis experience," says Trudy Johnson. The words of one of my clients, a pastors' wife says it best: "A'nesis Retreats offers an invaluable resource for anyone but especially those who serve the body of Christ in vocational ministry. We are open to all kinds of attack but none more severe than emotional exhaustion and turmoil. My time at the A'nesis Retreat was such a validating, healing and freeing experience. A'nesis gave me time to rest, time to absorb and time to reconnect with a God I felt had forgotten me."
