Contact: Tami Holzman, Anti-Defamation League, 415-981-3500 ext. 223, tholzman@adl.org

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 24 /Christian Newswire/ -- Sunday, January 28, 2007, a coalition of progressive and mainstream Jewish groups, led by the Anti-Defamation League, will be holding a conference to address anti-Semitism in the progressive community. Finding Our Voice: The Conference for Progressives Constructively Addressing Anti-Semitism will feature speakers, workshops and skill-building sessions designed to educate participants about anti-Semitism and help them learn how to respond when confronted by it.

ADL Regional Director Jonathan Bernstein says, "We are flooded with calls from self-identified progressive Jews who feel torn between their Jewish and progressive identities. Many are alienated from progressive causes because they support Israel. We need to help them find their voice and not be marginalized by those espousing hatred."

The day will be comprised of educational and skill building sessions as well as a keynote address by British lawyer and academic, Anthony Julius. Other presenters include California Assembly Member Mark Leno; acclaimed filmmaker Tiffany Shlain; San Francisco State University Professor Fred Astren; and Deputy Vice Consul General of Israel Ishmael Khaldi. For a complete list of sessions and presenters visit: http://www.events.org/findingourvoice.

Media coverage of the conference is welcome. To arrange for press credentials at the conference or to interview any of the presenters, contact Tami Holzman at 415.981.3500 x223.
