ATLANTA, Aug. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- Gospel Music Channel television network will give Third Day fans - especially those who see the band during the new Music Builds concert tour - a unique concert "encore" right in their own homes.

On Sunday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. (ET), Gospel Music Channel will world premiere Third Day: Revelation Revealed, an original new special that goes behind-the-scenes and chronicles the making of Third Day's new album Revelation (Essential Records / PLG.) After it's premiere, Gospel Music Channel will run Third Day: Revelation Revealed in select time slots every weekend during the Music Builds Tour, including late night. Third Day: Revelation Revealed and this unique new television scheduling concept will be a treat for all Third Day fans, especially for those who attend the Music Builds Tour and hear the new material live; it gives them a chance to go home that night to hear more about the writing, producing and recording of those songs instantly.

The Music Builds Tour is a festival-style concert tour featuring Third Day, Switchfoot, Robert Randolph and the Family Band and Jars of Clay. The 23-city tour will go towards benefiting local Habitat For Humanity chapters in the tour cities, through a program combining "Hollywood For Habitat For Humanity," the concert production company Live Nation, and the bands.

This is not the first time Third Day and Gospel Music Channel have teamed for fan benefit. In April, GMC produced the video for the band's first single off Revelation, Call My Name, which GMC world premiered during it's inaugural live telecast of The Dove Awards.

Over the past decade, Atlanta-based rock band, Third Day has racked up 25 No.1 radio singles and sold close to seven million albums, with RIAA certifications including one Platinum record, one Platinum DVD, and six Gold records. The band has garnered 23 career Dove Awards, three GRAMMY Awards (with eight career nominations), two consecutive American Music Award nods, multiple ASCAP honors, and has developed a historic partnership with Chevrolet.

The band's 10th studio album, Revelation - produced by Howard Benson (All-American Rejects, Flyleaf, Daughtry), recently debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200, becoming the top-selling debut album of the week and Third Day's highest-charting album to date. Third Day has maintained a touring record second-to-none by playing for audiences reaching into the millions. In addition to these many accolades, the band is most proud of its humanitarian efforts that include raising nearly $300,000 for the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita and charities such as the Blood:Water Mission. The band is responsible for encouraging more than 15,000 fans to sponsor children across the globe through the work of World Vision.
