WASHINGTON, Aug. 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), a conservative Evangelical leader based in Washington, DC, will travel to Denver on Saturday, August 23, to observe and comment on the Democratic National Convention and surrounding events.

Mr. Schenck, an ordained Evangelical minister, is co-founder and president of the conservative National Clergy Council and its lay complement, Faith and Action, representing over 35,000 supporting members and headquartered in Washington, DC. He is also chairman of the Committee on Church and Society for the Evangelical Church Alliance, America's oldest association of Evangelical church leaders.

Mr. Schenck, who holds a graduate degree from Faith Evangelical Seminary, has been a pro-life and pro-traditional family activist for 20 years.

Mr. Schenck made this statement today about the upcoming Democratic Convention: "The Evangelical vote is not locked in solidly to the Republican nominee. A substantial percentage of Evangelicals have not made up their minds on who they will vote for or whether they will vote at all in this election. We need to watch very carefully what is said and done at this convention and at the Republican convention to get better direction on what to do."
