Illinois Lobbyist/Activist Rick Garcia Compares Nationwide Child Advocacy Group to 'Nazis'

WASHINGTON, Mar. 29 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Tuesday, NotOurKids.com – a Nationwide Child Advocacy Coalition – officially called upon America's parents to protect their children and youth by removing them from schools nationwide on April 18, 2007 – if their school was participating in or allowing a homosexual protest event to take place called the "Day of Silence" (DOS).

Now in its 11th year, the "Day of Silence" garners the participation of tens of thousands of homosexual activist students, "allies" (heterosexual supporters) – and even administrators – to stage a one day "in-school" protest by remaining silent throughout the entire school day.

In many cases, at the U.S. taxpayer's expense, the normal school day comes to a screeching halt in an effort to bring attention to the so-called "hatred, bigotry and name calling" directed toward homosexual individuals.

Participants in last year's "Day of Silence" in-school protest boasted in reaching over 500,000 impressionable students with their "message" of "ending the hatred, bigotry and name calling."

In an article published yesterday in The Naperville Sun, NotOurKids.com Official Spokespersons Linda Harvey and Stephen Bennett explained the coalition's "call to action": if this disruptive homosexual activism and proselytizing is taking place in your school, protect you and your children by simply pulling your kids out of school on that day. If you are assured the event is not taking place, then make sure your kids are where they belong – in school.

"The homosexual 'Day of Silence' states its goal includes ending the so-called 'hatred, bigotry and name calling' by non-homosexual persons," stated Stephen Bennett of NotOurKids.com. "Knowing that, we are shocked that Illinois homosexual lobbyist and activist Rick Garcia, director of public policy for Equality Illinois, responded as he did in the same article, verbally attacking parents all across America who desire to protect their school children from homosexual activism."

Garcia stated, "These people sound like they'd be a perfect fit for Nazi Germany." He continued, "Let's burn books so our perfect children are not tainted ... Not our kids, well they are your kids. If they [parents] think they're going to keep their kids from gay people or a discussion of homosexuality anywhere, they are delusional."

Garcia also stated NotOurKids.com's mission is "sad and pathetic" and "[they] are advocating animosity and bigotry."

Stephen Bennett of NotOurKids.com responded, "How can Garcia – a homosexual activist – demand an end to name calling and so-called bigotry, when he clearly doesn't practice what he preaches?"

Stephen ended, "This is what America needs to see: the real groups who are guilty of the hatred, the bigotry, the name calling and the intimidation. Mr. Garcia’s statements are the perfect example why NotOurKids.com opposes these tactics of homosexual activism – especially within America's public schools – and is calling upon all parents nationwide to pull their children and youth out of school on April 18th if their school is allowing this disruptive 'Day of Silence' protest to take place."
