Hawaii and Texas Think Tanks Unite to Push Back on Planned Parenthood's Sex-ed Agenda

HONOLULU, Hawaii, April 22, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- Hawaii's Ohana Policy Group is developing strategies and tactics to combat in-school lifestyle indoctrination that will help mainland communities to fight back.

On April 16th, Representative Bob McDermott (R) held a public information meeting at the Hawaii State Capitol Auditorium and presented his latest report to a packed roomful of concerned parents. The evenings featured speaker was Dr. Joe McIlhaney from the Medical Institute for Sexual Health in Dallas, Texas, who enumerated the medical inaccuracies and potential harm done by these "politically" driven sex education programs that target young children.

Representative Bob McDermott, who also serves as Chairman of the Ohana Policy Group, issued the third in his series of special reports on sex education in public schools. The latest report deals with the intrusion of Planned Parenthood and their "Sexuality" education curriculum they want to bring to students as young as kindergarten. "Make no mistake about it," said McDermott. "The purpose of 'Sexuality Education,' especially at young ages, is to indoctrinate children with the politically correct view of Planned Parenthood (PP) and the LGBT advocacy organizations: That homosexuality, transsexuality, and promiscuity are viable lifestyle choices that are on par with heterosexual monogamy."

"I support a common-sense health policy," continued McDermott, "I therefore support sex education in the context of a health course study on human reproduction with an emphasis on biology. Curricula should be medically accurate and age appropriate as determined by a group of qualified child psychiatrists, behavioral specialists, pediatric neurologists, obstetricians, gynecologists, histologists, epidemiologists, and doctors of psychosomatic medicine. Simple pediatrics is not enough."

"Representative McDermott should be awarded the appreciation of all parents and families—not just those in Hawaii, but in the whole United States of America," said Dr. McIlhaney, "His commitment to young people is enormous, passionate, and active. He is for them and intent on protecting them, so that they may achieve their potential."

Ohana Policy Group has provided a wealth of research and grass root strategies for countering the numerous attempts to implement social engineering through the public school system in Hawaii. Many of the programs they have exposed in one of our most liberal states will pop up elsewhere across the country.

"You've done an incredible job here," said Dr. McIlhaney of Ohana Policy Group, "You can provide guidance to the entire United States if you accomplish what I hope you do here."

The Ohana Policy Group is an independent 501c (3) non-profit organization that funds the research and documentation of questionable government policies. Hawaii serves as an early warning sentinel for progressive assaults on our constitutional rights, infringement of our religious liberties and politicization of our public schools.
