PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- Ruth Naomi Floyd, an accomplished, award winning fine art photographer known for her black and white photographic portrait images, will exhibit September 11 - October 31 at White Stone Gallery in Philadelphia. Veil Series, a series of black and white images of the human face and form exploring life's journey, marks the first time White Stone Gallery will exhibit photographic images.

Ruth Naomi Floyd is also a renowned vocalist and composer who has released several recordings that have received high acclaim both nationally and internationally. Ruth will sing a few selections from her new body of musical works at the opening reception, September 18, 7 - 9 PM.

Ruth Naomi Floyd uses Veil Series, a body of fine art photographic images, to express the different "veils" that we experience while traveling on the path of life. She conveys that throughout life's journey we encounter themes that may reveal our struggle to stand, fall or kneel. "It is in these seasons," Floyd says, "that we choose to embrace, reject, shield, conceal, shroud and grasp the realities of our veiled experience. For the One who created us, is the only One who fully sees through our veils."

Floyd's exhibit, Veil Series, which primarily consists of portraits with transparent veils to cover the entire image or portions of the image, shows Floyd's fascination of the human face. Eyes Closed, is among several of the pieces that show the deepest richest shadows in high contrast to light bouncing off the features of an attractive face emerging from the darkness. Susan Hooks, who owns White Stone Gallery with her husband Derek, agrees with many others as she describes the images as "hauntingly beautiful."

For the past 20 years, Ruth Naomi Floyd has exhibited her fine art photographs in solo and group exhibitions. She has received awards and grants for her photographic images. Her work is included in permanent and private collections. Floyd's photographic images have been published in and on the covers of magazines, music compact discs, etc. Ruth also lectures and conducts workshops and seminars on topics that explore Faith and the Arts.

White Stone Gallery, which opened in 2002, represents art that reflects faith. The gallery is located at 4219 Main Street in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. For more information and gallery hours, visit their website at www.whitestonegallery.com.
