TBN Plans Outstanding Programming Lineup for Easter Week

LOS ANGELES, Mar. 29 /Christian Newswire/ -- Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) the world's largest religious broadcaster and America's most-watched faith channel, has a full week of outstanding inspirational programming in celebration of Easter, continuing a tradition begun in the early years of the award-winning faith and family network.

"Many years ago we got a clear message from our viewers that they appreciate the efforts we put in to make holidays like Christmas and Easter a special time for them and their families. That's why we've made it a priority to pull together the very best of award-winning programs and movies that will add to the celebration and inspiration of the season. We think our week-long Easter lineup this year is really special."

Among the special programs TBN will be broadcasting during Easter week, April 1st through 7th are:

The Greatest Story Ever Told -- The monumental Silver Screen adaptation of the story of Jesus Christ, starring the legendary Max von Sydow. (April 1st - 7:00 p.m., April 3rd - 2:00 p.m., April 5th - 11:00 p.m., April 6th - 12:00 a.m.).

He Chose the Nails -- Shot on location at the historic Orpheus Theater in New Orleans, in front of a live audience, this exciting program features live performances from some of America's most popular Contemporary Christian Music artists, along with author Max Lucado's narration of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ - all complemented by stunning visuals and re-enactments. (April 2nd - 12:00 a.m.)

The Gospel of John -- One of the most beloved of the Gospel accounts comes to life in a faithful and powerful dramatization, meticulously re-creating the era of Jesus during a tumultuous period that changed the course of history. Starring Henry Ian Cusick as Jesus, and narrated by Christopher Plummer, and with a cast of over 2,500. (April 2nd - 7:00 p.m.)

The Robe -- With a star-studded cast including Richard Burton, Victor Mature, Jean Simmons, and Richard Boone, this Academy Award winning movie tells the story of a one Roman soldier's confrontation with Jesus Christ at the Crucifixion – and how his life is forever changed. (April 5th - 7:00 p.m.)

King of Kings -- Another classic Big-Screen account of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (April 7th - 8:30 p.m.).

In addition to these classic and moving Easter offerings, TBN has a week-long lineup of some of the best in Easter music, including an Easter special from Branson, Missouri featuring the incredible piano renditions of Dino Kartsonakis (April 2nd - 1:00 a.m.), and some of the best in feature length animation for the whole family, like The Littlest Angel (April 2nd - 9:00 a.m.).

TBN will also feature some moving and poignant services hosted by America's best love ministers, like the special Good Friday Service with Pastor Benny Hinn (April 6th - 2:00 p.m.) and a special extra early Easter service with Ed Young and John Caldwell (April 7th - 11:00 p.m.).
