Care Net Conference Largest Pregnancy Center Gathering in U.S.

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- Care Net will kick off its 24th annual pregnancy center conference on September 20, 2007 in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. The largest pregnancy center gathering in North America, the Care Net Conference is set to draw 1,500 pregnancy center leaders and will offer opportunities for training and support to help attendees enhance their local pregnancy center ministries.

 

"Care Net's annual conference is a crucial gathering for pregnancy center leaders, who are on the forefront of a movement expanding like never before," Care Net President Kurt Entsminger said. Recent media attention reflects the ongoing growth experienced by pregnancy center ministries. According to Care Net's annual statistics report, pregnancy centers served 342,156 clients in 2006, the largest number of clients served by pregnancy centers to date. In 2007, pregnancy centers were featured as the cover story of Time magazine and in reporting from the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times and NPR.

 

Those attending the three-day conference will experience a variety of speakers, workshops and opportunities for relationship building and prayer. Keynote speakers include Care Net President Kurt Entsminger, singer and songwriter Dennis Jernigan, Christian novelist Francine Rivers and public policy consultant Star Parker. Workshop topics include a medical track focusing on STIs, campus outreach, and post-abortion recovery, among other topics.
