Contact: Jennifer Allison, 678-777-9670

ATLANTA, Oct. 29, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Local author debuts her new book "Confessions of a Rambunctious Kid: A Quest for Self-Discovery and the Meaning of Life" as a way to bring awareness to the ongoing struggles and challenges many children face.

Written with humor and transparency, this book is a nostalgic coming-of-age memoir about growing up in the '70s and '80s. Jennifer began her quest for self-discovery at an early age when she realized she was different from other kids. Suffering from a bizarre condition known as Sensory Processing Disorder, she has a unique perspective on life and shares her innermost thoughts and struggles. She fell into many deep potholes on her journey, which included abuse, drug addiction, and poverty. Ultimately, however, the challenges taught her some valuable life lessons. This story will make you laugh, cry, and cheer as you travel alongside Jennifer on the road to hope, transformation, and the meaning of life.

Jennifer Leigh Allison, author and self-identified rambunctious kid, said, "My purpose for this book is twofold. First, I want to empower teachers, parents, and caregivers to understand how children with special needs, learning disabilities or traumatic experiences might perceive and interpret the chaotic world they're living in. My desire is to help us all become better advocates and supporters for them. But most importantly, I want to give hope to anyone who has been hurt, bullied, or feels misunderstood. We were all created by a loving God who has a specific plan for us. Our biggest challenges can oftentimes be the very things that catapult us into our greatest purpose if we surrender our lives to Him."

"Confessions of a Rambunctious Kid: A Quest for Self-Discovery and the Meaning of Life" is available in paperback from Amazon.com. It's also available in digital format for Kindle, iBooks and Nook.
