BELLINGHAM, Wash., Oct. 8, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Verbum, the Catholic version of Logos Bible Software, has teamed up with Catholic Answers to offer new apologetics study tools to the Catholic world with the Catholic Answers Library. A cross-platform Catholic library, Verbum is filled with interlinked documents spanning early Patristic source texts to modern-day papal encyclicals. With the addition of 21 Catholic Answers books, this new library is curated to help anyone study the Faith with powerful tools and texts faithful to Church teachings.

Jimmy Akin, senior apologist at Catholic Answers, expressed his enthusiasm for the new library, saying, "I use Verbum's software every day. I am excited that now, for the first time, Catholic Answers materials are a part of Verbum."

The Catholic Answers Library is an innovative tool for the New Evangelization. Alongside powerful Bible study tools that shed light on the meaning of the original languages in Scripture, Verbum offers exciting new technology linking Scripture with the other documents in the Catholic Answers Library.

Verbum director Andrew Jones, Ph.D., said, "The digital revolution, as we all know, is full of dangers, as was the development of the printing press in the fifteenth century. But, like with the printing press, the new technologies provide the Church new opportunities. In Verbum, no single piece of the Tradition exists in isolation from the Tradition as a whole -- the texts form an interconnected web, giving meaning to each other. This is impossible in print."

The Catholic Answers Library incorporates new apologetic resources with ancient and medieval material, giving users a holistic Catholic library. It contains 21 books by top Catholic Answers authors in addition to over 50 titles central to the Catholic tradition.

Verbum's Catholic Answers Library works on Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire and Android devices.
