Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin to Speak at FBCLG Scholarship Ministry Event

SOMERSET, N.J., March 9, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- Actress Meagan Good and her husband, author and producer DeVon Franklin will be the featured guests at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens (FBCLG) Arts in the Afternoon Scholarship Ministry event on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. Good and Franklin will do a book signing and Q&A session for their recent book, The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love. The admission is $40 and the program will be held at 771 Somerset Street, Somerset, New Jersey.

Meagan Good is an actress and star of many hit movies including: Deliver Us from Eva, Think Like a Man, and Jumping the Broom. Her husband DeVon Franklin is the President/CEO of Franklin Entertainment and Former Senior Vice President of Production at Columbia Pictures. The couple recently wrote a book entitled, The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love. The book talks about the couples' commitment to abstain from sex and practice celibacy before marriage in order to discover a new found love. Their goal was to focus on other areas within the relationship in hopes to gain clarity and to see if their relationship was true. Good and Franklin are passionate about sharing their story and work to be an inspiration for young couples across the nation.

The Scholarship Ministry at FBCLG originated in 1964 with the intention to provide financial support to youth who desire to attend an institution of higher learning after high school. Arts in the Afternoon was created to help raise scholarship money in an effort to support the mission of the ministry. The annual event consists of music, dancing, art and poetry along with book signings by featured authors such as: Hill Harper, Cissy Houston, and Judy Smith. The ticketed event is open to public.
