My Search for God

PENSACOLA, Fla., Mar. 25 /Christian Newswire/ -- In his recently published book, Memoirs of a Madman: My Search for God, (published by AuthorHouse) Michael Stewart warns readers that transcendental meditation, along with other metaphysical studies, is Satan's counterfeit compared to the Bible's teachings. Stewart, who characterizes his story as Forrest Gump meets the devil, witnessed first-hand the evil spirit's trickery, but before he lost his soul, his cry, "Help me, Jesus!" freed him from the bonds of hell.

With his small stature and severe allergies, Michael Stewart always felt he was an outcast and had to fend for himself. He grew up in a time when television began to be a part of family life and the sixties brought a whole, new rebellious culture. Early on, a traveling evangelist got the author's attention, but by the time the itinerant preacher left town, Michael Stewart felt confused and frustrated. Later on, in his search for spiritual answers, he discovered the art of transcendental meditation and was amazingly released from his stress and given a head clear of allergies. In his hunger for more, he read as much on the topic as he could get hold of, including learning how to interpret his dreams.

New age teachings often claim that spiritual guides are Abraham, Isaac or Jacob from the Bible; however, Michael Stewart soon realized that those ostensible guides were not from God, but instead were demons trying to capture his soul. The author, who not only warns about the danger of the many metaphysical beliefs, also challenges the greed of many preachers for their own self-serving causes and cautions readers to cling to the Bible for truth so that the devil will not win their souls.

About the Author: Michael Stewart was born in the mid fifties in a rural town in Northeast Louisiana. Being a little different he struggled growing up in the redneck south. He earned a degree in construction and started his new career at the last Nuclear power plant to be built in the U.S. in Glen Rose, Texas. He spent sixteen years in the construction industry mostly as a construction estimator. Texas is where his spiritual journey took on a new twist. He now resides in Florida working in maintenance.
