Contact: Rev. Rob Schenck, Dane Rose, 202-546-8329, ext 106

MEDIA ADVISORY, May 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- On Wednesday, May 14, at 11:00 AM, the National Clergy Council will lead a small delegation of church leaders to the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC, to pray for the victims of Monday's earthquake.

National Clergy Council president, the Reverend Rob Schenck (pronounced SHANK), said, "God loves the Chinese people and it's our joy and duty to express that love through prayer. Of course, we must offer tangible help, too, and we will do that through a hand-delivered letter to Ambassador Zhou Wenzhong."

The letter to Ambassador Wenzhong will offer the financial and volunteer resources of the National Clergy Council network of churches and organizations to assist in earthquake relief efforts.

The National Clergy Council represents more than 5000 pastors, denominational leaders and executives of religious organizations and 32,000 lay supporters located in all 50 states.
