Nationwide Christian Business Internship Program Launched

Contact: Terence Chatmon, Fellowship of Companies for Christ International, 770-685-6000

ATLANTA, Aug., 26, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- In September, the Fellowship of Companies for Christ International (FCCI) is launching a nationwide FCCI Fellows program with the ambitious 12-year goal of equipping one million college students to apply Biblical principles in their business careers. Beginning in the summer of 2014, high-quality paid internships will be available for selected freshmen, sophomore and junior business students. Over a period of ten weeks, these students will have opportunities to be mentored by owners, CEOs and executives at FCCI member companies.

Several Atlanta colleges and universities have already committed to participate in the new FCCI Fellows program, including Clark University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse College, Spelman College and the University of Georgia. Coinciding with the launch of the FCCI Fellows program, five new FCCI business leader groups have recently begun to meet in Atlanta. These groups will be integral components of the FCCI Fellows program.

"This bold nationwide initiative is starting right here in Atlanta where FCCI began in 1977, and will be showcased at the FCCI global conference on September 22-26 in Hawaii," says FCCI President and CEO Terence Chatmon; "At first, our goal of equipping one million students in 12 years may sound overly ambitious, but with 28,000 colleges and universities across the United States, including about 1,000 Christian colleges, when you do the arithmetic, the numbers are realistic with God's help." FCCI Fellows registration for interested employers, colleges and students is now available online at www.FCCI.org.
