PHOENIX, Mar. 31 /Christian Newswire/ -- To help today's cost-conscious students obtain their degrees and hit the workforce early, Grand Canyon University (GCU) for the first time is offering a full catalog of online courses in two six-week sessions this summer.

"Our students are asking for programs throughout the year that can help them meet their graduation goals," said GCU CEO Brian Mueller. "Thankfully we have the flexibility and the support of excellent faculty to make summer programming work."

Courses begin April 20 and May 4, with the option to take a few courses or a full summer semester. Since the courses conclude well before GCU's fall session begins (August 31) students also have ample time off before continuing their studies.

As an additional incentive, GCU is offering a $500 scholarship to early enrollees, as well as the opportunity for additional financial aid throughout the year based on academic performance.

"The workforce expects high quality, academically superior students from our institution, and we have restructured our scholarship program for online and on-campus students to reflect this focus," Mueller said. "The better the student does in their studies, the more financial aid is available throughout the year."

GCU offers competitive tuition rates for both online and traditional campus students that in some cases is nearly half of the national average for private college tuition.
