WASHINGTON, May 12, 2016 /Christian Newswire/ -- Thirty Christian leaders from business, political, cultural, and theological sectors have come together with The Washington Times and the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics (IFWE) to publish a special report on work, entitled, "Faith at Work: Individual Purpose, Flourishing Communities." Click here for a downloadable copy or visit The Washington Times website.

From Speaker Paul Ryan, Gov. Sam Brownback, and the late Jack Kemp to Rev. Sammy Rodriguez, Pastor Tim Keller, Michael Novak and Hobby Lobby's Steve Green, these leaders articulate the rich Christian heritage of work. To them, work goes beyond mere words or symbols, as valuable as those may be. Because of their faith, work has intrinsic value and dignity. There is no separation between the sacred and the secular and to do their job well is how they love God and their neighbor. And that is just as important as what they might do on a Sunday.

"So many sense a disconnect between their faith and their work," said IFWE executive director Hugh Whelchel. "The good news is that there's eternal significance even in what seems like mundane work. It's what Christians have known for centuries. For the sake of our communities, it's time we get back to living this out."

"The Washington Times, which has stood for the values of faith, family, freedom and service since its inception in 1982, is pleased to publish a special report on this important topic of faith at work," said Larry Beasley, president and CEO of The Washington Times. "A project like this — which explores the dignity of work, good practices in the workplace, and how work fosters human flourishing — fits well with our mission to give unique and meaningful content to our readers."

The Washington Times special report is divided in four sections, "Theology of Work," "Dignity of Work," "Society and Work," and "Practices in Work." Following are its authors: Dr. Tim Keller, Dr. Os Guinness, Dr. Art Lindsley, Dr. Anne R. Bradley, Hugh Whelchel, Nancy Pearcey, Dr. Tom Nelson, Andy Crouch, Rev. Robert Sirico, Sen. Elizabeth Dole, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, John Stonestreet, Greg Leith, Michael Novak, Dr. Jesse Miranda, Josh Good, Penny Nance, House Speaker Paul Ryan, Gov.
