Justice Department Holds First-Ever First Freedom Project Seminar

WASHINGTON, Mar. 28 /Christian Newswire/ -- Officials from the Justice Department will hold a seminar as part of the Department’s First Freedom Project to address federal laws protecting religious freedom.  Topics will include religious discrimination, religious land use, and prosecuting religion-based hate crimes. 

 

Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales announced the First Freedom Project in February 2007 as an initiative to protect religious liberty.  The initiative includes the creation of a Department-wide Task Force on Religious Liberty, increased outreach to individuals and organizations concerned with religious liberty issues, and a series of regional seminars.  This seminar will be held TOMORROW, MARCH 29 at 9:00 A.M. CST.
