CAROL STREAM, Ill., May 13, 2014 /
Christian Newswire/ -- The Evangelical Press Association presented its 2014 Awards of Excellence and Higher Goals Awards at its annual convention May 4-6, 2014 in Anaheim. For the 2nd year in a row, the global media ministry of Christianity Today was honored with a total of 42 awards.
Each year the Evangelical Press Association contest honors the best work done by EPA-member publications during the past calendar year. This year seven Christianity Today brands from across the nonprofit ministry won an award. President and CEO Harold Smith shares, "Needless to say, it's an honor to have your work so recognized. But it's a greater joy to be able to point to the men and women driving such excellence. It is their giftedness and commitment to quality Christian content that we are now celebrating--until the next deadline!"
Some award highlights included: Christianity Today Magazine RedesignWith its bold, surprising redesign in October 2013,
Christianity Today won 1st place in both overall publication design and publication redesign. The 2013 redesign included wider margins, new typefaces, restructured magazine sections, a simpler color palette, and a move to the truncated "CT" on the cover. This strategic move and resulting reader response further solidifies the magazine as a source for in-depth news, cultural analysis, and theological commentary.
Leader in Church Administration Christianity Today has established itself as a trusted leader in keeping churches safe, legal, and financially sound, evidenced by each of the ministry's church administration brands winning Awards of Excellence for overall excellence of the publication. These brands include
Church Law & Tax Report,
Church Finance Today,
ManagingYourChurch.com, and
ChurchLawAndTax.com.
Additionally, for the 3rd year in a row, a Christianity Today brand was featured in the best Website Design category. This year the award goes to ChurchLawAndTax.com, which unveiled a new look and features in April 2013, and previously was given to LeadershipJournal.net and ChristianityToday.com.
