LOS ANGELES, Dec. 1, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- What you are about to see and hear on You Tube at the link above is a historic outbreak of revival at Bonnie Brae Street on December 14, 2012, 100 years after the historic Bonnie Brae Street Revival broke out in 1906. The event was filmed by an unidentified person who attended the meeting on December 14 with his I-Phone. Only parts of the evening's events were recorded.

The revivalist who preached was a 94-year-old Assemblies of God Evangelist Verna Linzey, called a "Daughter of Azusa Street." Her son, Evangelist Jim Linzey, also preached and ministered with her. Verna is called a "Daughter of the Azusa Street Revival" because she was influenced by some who were at the Azusa Street Revival in the early 1900s. Ernest S. Williams was one of them.

P.C. Nelson who was influenced by ministers at the revival became a well-known Pentecostal Movement leader who personally impacted Verna Linzey as he and his ministry team from Southwestern Bible School of Enid, Oklahoma, visited Verna's parents (Rev. Francis L. Doyle and Rev. Alice M. Doyle) and children on their way back from ministry trips. They would sit around the kitchen table and share testimonies of salvations, healings, people receiving the baptism with the Holy Spirit, and talk about Bible prophecy. Verna later attended the Bible School, and eventually Fuller Theological Seminary, and finally received the Doctor of Divinity degree from Kingsway Theological Seminary.

Verna has prayed for 20,000 people to receive the baptism with the Holy Spirit as evidenced by speaking in tongues. An outreach to destitute children around the world which Verna and her team established, named after Verna, is based in the Philippines called the Verna Linzey Child Care Ministry. She has a best-selling book titled The Baptism with the Holy Spirit, used in over 100 Bible Schools as a text book. The foreword was written by Russell P. Spittler, Ph.D., Provost Emeritus, Fuller Theological Seminary.

Verna's book was endorsed by the following distinguished scholars and clergy: James D. G. Dunn; Vinson Synan; William M. Menzies, Frank D. Macchia; Allan Anderson; Samhwan Kim; Wonsuk Ma; David Petts; Benjamin Thornley; Colin Dye; Jim Ammerman; and Robert Turnbull.
