PA Citizens Urged to Contact Legislators This Week on PA Marriage Amendment

Contact: Deborah Hamilton, Pennsylvania Marriage Amendment, 610-454-1538

HARRISBURG, Penn., Jan. 21 /Christian Newswire/ -- Pennsylvania residents will be able to contact their state senators and representatives this week to talk with them regarding the upcoming Pennsylvania Marriage Amendment, as legislators will be in their local district offices all week and easier to reach.

Deborah Hamilton, spokesperson for the PA4Marriage Coalition stated, "Pennsylvanians are urged to visit and call their legislators while they are home in their districts this week to talk with them about the Pennsylvania Marriage Amendment. Senator Mike Brubaker is sponsoring the bill and needs co-sponsors for the bill. Constituents can encourage their legislators to become one of the sponsors and let them know that Pennsylvanians want to keep marriage between one man and one woman in our state. We want the chance to have a referendum vote on the issue instead of letting the courts decide for us what marriage will be. We do not want marriage redefined in Pennsylvania."

The majority of Americans oppose same-sex marriage, and resist it each time they are given the opportunity. 68 percent of the respondents in a recent CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll said same-sex "marriages" should not be recognized under the law.
