COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Dec. 2 /Christian Newswire/ -- As President Obama announced plans to send more troops to Afghanistan Tuesday night, Christian Grandparenting Network is mobilizing the grandparents of wounded soldiers to step up and be part of providing hope and encouragement to their grandkids. "We have designed a special GrandCamp that will equip those attending to deal with their emotional and psychological scars through specialized curriculum. The camp is for grandparents and grandkids of both military families separated by deployments, and those living with the wounds of war," said Cavin Harper, founder of the Christian Grandparenting Network.

These specialized camps for grandkids are called Military Kids GrandCamps. A GrandCamp is a time when grandchildren and grandparents can strengthen the bond between them. This year is the first time they will have a GrandCamp specifically for the children of wounded warriors and their grandparents called "Wounded Warrior GrandCamp" running June 28 -- July 2, 2010.

According to Harper, "Our GrandCamps are unlike any camp you have ever known, offering a unique adventure and the opportunity to escape the distractions of life and build lasting memories and milestones."

Harper says, "I don't think we can comprehend how much these soldiers and their families have given up. There are no words good enough to thank them. But it is a privilege for us to mobilize grandparents to be a part of the healing in these families and show gratitude for their sacrifice."

The Christian Grandparenting Network promotes effective grandparenting which is intentional about helping children and grandchildren know and follow Christ wholeheartedly.
