FRANKLIN, Tenn., July 28, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- EchoLight Studios announced today the August 1, 2015, release of the new faith and family film, "77 Chances," through EchoLight Cinemas.

"77 Chances" shares the story of aspiring photographer, Jason (Andrew Cheney, "Seasons of Gray"), who hit a plateau in his life and moved back home to help his sister Eva (Erin Bethea, "Fireproof") run the family business after their mother passed away. Now, Jason feels like each day is a repeat of the last, and he'll never get to chance to follow his dreams.

After a date with the beautiful and spirited Mac (Rachel Hendrix, "October Baby") rekindles Jason's zest for life, a little divine intervention conspires to make him see the world in a new light. No matter how badly he wants to see how the rest of their relationship goes, Jason can't move on to the next day in his life until he resolves his feelings about his family – and his faith. Until that happens, it will be the same song on the alarm clock every morning, the same boring day at work, and the same amazing, awkward, hilarious first date for the rest of his life.

"77 Chances is a quirky love story with an intense amount of heart. I am grateful to have worked on it," said Hendrix. "You might laugh, you might cry … but you will root for Mac and Jason's budding relationship. It was a pleasure to portray such a pivotal character in Jason's repetitive world and to ultimately be the reason he lets go of it."

The Dove Foundation called the film "an inspiring movie with a captivating plot" and awarded "77 Chances" the Faith Friendly Seal of Approval.

The film will release beginning in August through EchoLight Studios' unique church-based distribution model, EchoLight Cinemas. Since the EchoLight Cinemas launch in September 2014, more than 800 churches and organizations have signed up to participate in the program to premier high-quality, exclusive faith and family films.

"The impact EchoLight Cinema churches are having on their communities is incredible as they share films that declare messages of hope and redemption, rather then the hopelessness and despair that are so prevalent in today's headlines," said Jeff Sheets, president of EchoLight Studios.

EchoLight Cinemas' first film, "One Generation Away," a docudrama that delves into the erosion of America's religious freedoms, remains available for participating churches to show through 2016. Max Lucado's "The Christmas Candle," which has been shown the last two Christmas seasons, will be available to EchoLight Cinemas locations starting November 1 and running through December 31.

"Vanished: Left Behind – Next Generation," starring Nickelodeon's Amber Montana ("Haunted Hathaways") will release in traditional theaters February 2016.
