TOPEKA, Kan., April 13, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Kansas Board of Healing Arts voted today to delay finalization of a revocation order in the case of abortionist Ann Kristin Neuhaus after the defense submitted a 70-page tome late yesterday, leaving board members little time to review the documents.

"While the delay in this six year old battle to protect women from Neuhaus' shoddy practices is disappointing, we remain confident that justice will be done," said Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue, who filed the complaint against Neuhaus the prompted the Board action. Sullenger was present at today's hearing.

An initial older revoking Neuhaus' medical license issued earlier this year determined that Neuhaus repeatedly violated the standards of patient care when making late-term abortion referrals to George Tiller's Women's Health Care Services in 2003.

Neuhaus is currently barred from the practice of medicine except in "charity" cases. She was heard today telling a reporter that she is no longer working at a medical clinic associated with the University of Kansas where she had been providing voluntary services.

Neuhaus' attorneys have threatened to appeal Neuhaus' revocation in state court.

Neuhaus stated during her revocation trial that she held the radical beliefs that unplanned pregnancies make women mentally ill, and that pregnancy is a life-threatening condition.

"The good news is that Neuhaus is currently prevented from inflicting further harm on women," said Sullenger. "Given her long history of Board discipline and her open disrespect for the law and the Board of Healing Arts, there can be no doubt that revocation is in the public's best interest."
