DEERFIELD, Ill., June 22 /Christian Newswire/ -- After a thorough search, Trinity International University has selected Paige Comstock Cunningham, JD (MA '04) as executive director of The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity (CBHD). "Ms. Cunningham's expertise and more than twenty years' experience as an attorney, educator, church member, public servant, and leader in human dignity and bioethical issues will serve TIU well," noted Trinity President Craig Williford. "Her passion for the church and the scholarly world will provide an excellent platform for leading our center."

Having served in various roles at Americans United for Life, including president and chairman of the board of directors, Cunningham has a passion for engaging the culture. She has invested in the next generation of leaders as an adjunct faculty member at Wheaton College, Trinity Law School, and Trinity Graduate School.

Senior Counsel for Baxter International Inc. and CBHD search committee member, Peter Etienne (BA '85) values the experience and leadership Cunningham brings to the Center: "We are delighted to have Paige join CBHD as Director. She has had a long association with the Center and brings to the position strong experience in dealing with the media, the academic community, and the bioethics community nationally. It was very clear to the search committee that she was the right person to lead CBHD during these challenging times."

Cunningham envisions a strong future for CBHD: "This is a critical time to be involved in the work of CBHD as a 'thought center'--a resource for decision-makers and educators that is strategically focused on empirical research and scholarship in bioethical issues. We have an obligation to pursue truth as it pertains to increasingly complex dignity of life matters."
